Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Zomergem

The drive from Brussels Airport to Zomergem

Zomergem lies 85 km (53 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive usually takes about 1 hour. The route heads west across Flanders towards the Ghent area. Zomergem is a quiet rural destination, so a private transfer often saves a lot of effort compared with arranging several separate legs yourself. Morning and late-afternoon traffic around Brussels and Ghent can slow the journey. If you have a fixed appointment or an onward booking, build in some extra time.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, small families and solo travellers, a private taxi is the natural choice. It is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, so check your luggage as well as your headcount. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This works well for wedding guests, company groups, sports teams or relatives travelling together to a family occasion. Everyone arrives at the same time, and the whole group shares one vehicle.

Zomergem as a destination

Zomergem is a village in East Flanders, in the countryside between Ghent and Bruges. It is a calm, green area of farmland and small roads, and it suits cycling and quiet stays. Visitors often come for family visits, local events or a base outside the busier cities. Because public services in small villages are limited, a door-to-door transfer is a practical way to arrive.
