The Drive to Ypres

The route from Brussels Zaventem Airport to Ypres covers 135 km (84 miles) and normally takes 1 h 26 m. Ypres is in the far west of Belgium, close to the French border, so most of the journey is spent on motorways heading west. Allow extra time if you travel during the morning or evening rush around Brussels, or in bad weather. Ypres is not one of our most frequently booked routes, but it is available on request like any other, and the transfer is private from door to door.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

Couples, solo travellers and small families can take a Private Taxi, with a 1-3 passenger or a 1-4 passenger option depending on how much luggage you carry. Larger parties are better served by a Private Minibus. Seat counts run from 8 to 16, 24, 32, 40 and 48 passengers. This suits school groups, battlefield tour parties, wedding guests and club outings arriving on the same flight.

About Ypres

Ypres (Ieper in Dutch) is a compact town in West Flanders, best known for its role in the First World War. The rebuilt Cloth Hall on the Grote Markt houses the In Flanders Fields Museum. The Menin Gate memorial hosts the Last Post ceremony every evening at 8 pm. Many visitors come to see the surrounding battlefields and cemeteries, and the old centre is easy to explore on foot.
