Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Wippelgem

The drive from Brussels Airport to Wippelgem

The route covers 81 km (51 miles) and usually takes about 1 hour. Wippelgem is a less frequently booked destination, but a transfer can be arranged on request just like any other. The journey heads west from Zaventem across Flanders, mostly on motorways. Morning and late-afternoon rush hours around Brussels and Ghent can add time, so allow a little extra if you have a fixed appointment or a connection to make.

Choosing the right vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers is the simplest option. Groups of up to 8 can travel together in the 8-seat minibus, which leaves more room for luggage. Larger parties, such as wedding guests, business delegations or club outings, can choose a minibus with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so everyone arrives in one vehicle.

Wippelgem and where to stay

Wippelgem is a small, quiet village in East Flanders, in the Ghent area. It is mainly residential and surrounded by green countryside, and there is little in the way of large hotels in the village itself. Visitors usually stay in nearby Ghent, which is only a short drive away. Well-known, long-established options there include:

• NH Gent Belfort, close to the historic centre
• Hotel Gravensteen, set in a former townhouse near the old town
• Novotel Gent Centrum, a practical choice near Ghent's centre

Your driver can take you directly to any of these or to a private address in Wippelgem.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage.
