Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Wezemaal

The drive from Zaventem to Wezemaal

The route covers 33 km (20 miles) and typically takes about 26 minutes. Most of the trip heads east of the airport towards the Leuven area, then continues on smaller regional roads into the village. Wezemaal is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but the transfer is available on request just like any other route. Morning and late-afternoon rush hours around Brussels and Leuven can slow traffic, so allow a little extra time if you have a fixed appointment or an event to reach.

Choosing the right vehicle

Couples, solo travellers and small families usually fit in a private taxi, which is offered for either 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. Choose the larger option if you travel with four people and a fair amount of luggage. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, which suits wedding guests, company groups, sports teams and other parties who want to arrive together. Everyone travels in one vehicle, so nobody has to coordinate several rides.

Wezemaal and where to stay nearby

Wezemaal is a village in Flemish Brabant, part of the municipality of Rotselaar and close to Leuven. The surroundings are rural and calm, which makes it a quiet base away from the capital. I could not name established accommodations in Wezemaal itself with confidence, so for hotels it is better to look at the nearest larger town, Leuven, which has several well-known places to stay:

• Martin's Klooster Hotel, a hotel in a converted historic building in Leuven
• Begijnhof Hotel, set in the Groot Begijnhof area of Leuven
• Park Inn by Radisson Leuven, a modern hotel near the town centre
