Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Werken

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Werken

Werken lies 126 km (79 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the journey by road typically takes 1 h 30 m. Most of the trip is on motorway, followed by quieter local roads once you reach the West Flemish countryside. This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request like any other, and your driver will plan it in advance.

Weekday morning and late-afternoon traffic around Brussels can slow the first part of the journey, so allow some extra time if you have a fixed appointment, a family event or an onward connection at the other end. Bad weather can also add minutes, particularly in winter.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage, so you can meet up without any searching.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

The vehicle you pick depends mainly on group size and luggage:

• Private Taxi (1-3 or 1-4 passengers): suits individual travellers, couples and small families.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good fit for a larger family or a group of friends with extra bags.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: work well for wedding parties, business teams and club trips.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: intended for large groups, such as tours, school parties and company events.

If you are close to the limit of a vehicle, choose the next size up. Suitcases, prams and sports equipment need space too.

About Werken

Werken is a small village in the municipality of Kortemark in West Flanders. The surroundings are flat, rural and typical of the region, with farmland, small roads and a quiet pace of life. Because it is a small place, it is worth keeping the exact street address or a nearby landmark to hand. Give it to your driver when booking so the drop-off goes smoothly and you do not lose time on the final stretch.
