Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Watermael

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Watermael

The route covers 22 km (14 miles) and typically takes around 24 minutes. Watermael is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but the transfer is available on request just like any other, and your driver plans the journey in the same way. Traffic around Brussels can build up during the morning and evening rush hours, so it is sensible to allow some extra time if you have a tight appointment, a connecting booking or a check-in deadline.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

The transfer is private, so the vehicle is yours alone and is not shared with other travellers. Solo travellers, couples and small families usually book a private taxi, with a choice between a 1-3 passenger car and a 1-4 passenger car. The larger option gives a little more breathing room when you travel with several suitcases.

For bigger groups there are private minibuses with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. These suit business delegations, wedding parties, school or sports groups and extended families arriving on the same flight. Choose a vehicle by the number of passengers and the amount of luggage you bring.

About Watermael as a Destination

Watermael forms part of the municipality of Watermael-Boitsfort, in the south-east of the Brussels-Capital Region. It is known as one of the greenest parts of the city, with a residential character and the edge of the Sonian Forest (Forêt de Soignes) close by. Visitors come here to stay with family and friends, to attend meetings, or to enjoy quiet surroundings while remaining within reach of central Brussels. Because the area is largely residential, it helps to have the full street address and house number ready for your driver, so the final stretch of the journey goes smoothly.
