Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Veldegem

The drive from Brussels Airport to Veldegem

Veldegem lies 108 km (68 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes about 1 h 10 m. This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request like any other. The journey runs from the Brussels area towards West Flanders, so it is worth allowing extra time if you land during the morning or evening rush hour, when traffic around Brussels can slow you down. A private transfer saves you from planning connections with luggage, which is useful for a destination in the countryside.

Which vehicle suits your group

The choice depends mainly on how many people and how many bags are travelling.

• Private Taxi: available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, suited to individuals, couples and small families.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: for groups of up to 8 with extra luggage.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: for larger family gatherings, wedding parties or business groups.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: for big groups and events, up to 48 passengers.

Veldegem as a destination

Veldegem is a small village in the municipality of Zedelgem in West Flanders, close to Bruges. It has a quiet, rural character, with fields and country roads rather than big attractions. Most visitors come to see family, attend a local event or use it as a calm base within reach of Bruges.

Places to stay near Veldegem

Veldegem itself is small, and I cannot name well-known, long-established hotels there with confidence. The nearest town with a wide choice of accommodation is Bruges, and these are some of its established names:

• Hotel de Orangerie: a historic canal-side hotel in the centre of Bruges.
• Die Swaene: a long-standing boutique hotel on a canal in the old town.
• Hotel Navarra: a traditional hotel in a historic building in central Bruges.
