Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Velaines

The drive from Brussels Airport to Velaines

The transfer covers 314 km (196 miles) and typically takes about 4 hours by road. That is a long ride, so it helps to start rested and to plan the day around it. Allow extra time if you travel during the morning or evening rush around Brussels, on Friday afternoons, or in poor weather, as any of these can add to the usual driving time. On a trip this long, a short comfort stop along the way is normal, and your driver can arrange one if you ask.

Choosing the right vehicle

Velaines is a less frequently booked destination, but the transfer is available on request like any other route. For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the simplest option, with versions for up to 3 or up to 4 passengers. Larger groups can choose a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. When you book, count your suitcases as well as your passengers. On a four-hour journey, extra legroom and luggage space make a real difference to comfort.

About Velaines

Velaines is a small place rather than a major destination, so most visitors come to see family, attend an event or reach a specific address nearby. Since the name can refer to more than one village, give your driver the full street address when you book so the route is set correctly from the start. After a long flight, a door-to-door private ride means you do not need to work out connections for a smaller location.

Meeting point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House inside Brussels Zaventem Airport, holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage. Simply head there and look for your name.
