The Drive from Brussels Airport to Utrecht

The route covers 168 km (105 miles) and usually takes about 1 h 56 m. It leads north from Zaventem, crosses the Belgian-Dutch border and continues through the southern Netherlands to Utrecht. This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request just like any other transfer.

Morning and late-afternoon rush hours around Brussels, Antwerp and the Utrecht ring can add time, so allow a buffer if you have a train, a meeting or a hotel check-in waiting. Travelling in the middle of the day or late in the evening is generally calmer.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

Smaller parties are best served by a private taxi, with options for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. The 1-4 option gives a little more room for luggage when you travel as a family or with several suitcases.

Larger groups can book a private minibus. Seat counts of 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 and 48 are available, which covers anything from a business delegation to a full coach-sized tour party or conference group. Choose a category that fits both your passengers and their bags, since a nearly full vehicle leaves little space for luggage.

Utrecht as a Destination

Utrecht is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands and has a compact, walkable centre. Its best-known landmark is the Dom Tower, the tallest church tower in the country. The old canals are lined with wharf cellars that now house cafés and restaurants. The city is also home to a large university and to Utrecht Centraal, one of the busiest railway hubs in the Netherlands. This makes it a convenient base for onward trips to Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam.
