Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Uitbergen

The drive from Brussels Airport to Uitbergen

Uitbergen is 50 km (31 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes about 44 minutes. The route leaves the airport area and heads west across Flanders towards the Scheldt valley. Traffic around the Brussels ring road can slow the first part of the trip, so allow extra time if you travel during the morning or evening rush hour. This route is booked less often than the busiest airport transfers, but it is available on request in the same way as any other.

Choosing the right vehicle

Two private taxi options cover smaller parties: one for up to 3 passengers and one for up to 4. Both suit couples, families or colleagues travelling with ordinary luggage. For larger groups there are private minibuses with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. A wedding party, a sports club or a company outing can usually travel together in one vehicle, which means everyone arrives at the same time. If you have a lot of luggage, choose the next size up so nobody is squeezed.

Uitbergen as a destination

Uitbergen is a small village in the municipality of Berlare in East Flanders, close to the Scheldt river. It is a quiet, rural area rather than a tourist centre. Most visitors come to see family or friends, for local events, or for the countryside along the river. Because the village is small, give your driver the full street address of your destination, so the drop-off point is exact.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage. Head there after baggage reclaim and look for your name.
