Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Tombeek

The drive from Zaventem to Tombeek

Tombeek lies 25 km (16 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the typical driving time is 23 minutes. That is a short transfer, but it is a route that mixes motorway and local roads, so traffic around Brussels can change the picture. Allow some extra time if you land during the morning or evening rush hour, or if you have a connection or appointment waiting at the other end. This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request just like any other.

Choosing the right vehicle

The vehicle you need depends on the size of your group and how much luggage you carry.

• Private Taxi (1-3 passengers) or Private Taxi (1-4 passengers): suited to solo travellers, couples, families and small business trips.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good fit for larger families or groups with extra bags.
• Private Minibus 16, 24 or 32 Seats: for wedding parties, team outings and mid-sized groups arriving together.
• Private Minibus 40 or 48 Seats: for large groups, events and conferences that need to travel in one vehicle.

About Tombeek

Tombeek is a small, mostly residential village in the Overijse area of Flemish Brabant, close to the border with Walloon Brabant. The surroundings are green and wooded, a quieter setting than central Brussels. Visitors tend to come for family visits, local events or a calmer base within reach of the capital.

Places to stay nearby

Tombeek itself is small, and I cannot confidently name hotels in the village. In the nearby town of Genval, the Château du Lac is a long-established lakeside hotel and conference venue. In neighbouring La Hulpe, the Dolce La Hulpe Brussels is a well-known hotel set in a wooded estate. Both are a short drive from Tombeek.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage, so you can go straight there and meet your driver without searching the terminal.
