Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Tiewinkel

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Tiewinkel

The route covers 276 km (172 miles) and typically takes 3 hours by road. That is a long ride by Belgian standards, so it helps to treat it as a proper journey rather than a quick hop. Travelling by private car means you go straight from the arrivals hall to your destination, with no changes and no timetables to follow.

Allow extra time if you travel during the weekday morning or late-afternoon rush, when the roads around Brussels are at their busiest. Bad weather and roadworks can also add to the three-hour estimate, so avoid planning a tight connection after arrival. If you are heading to the airport, build in a generous margin before your check-in deadline.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

For a trip of this length, comfort and luggage space matter. The vehicles on this route are:

• Private Taxi (1-3 passengers) and Private Taxi (1-4 passengers) suit solo travellers, couples, families and small groups with ordinary luggage.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats works for larger families or friends travelling with extra bags.
• Private Minibus 16 Seats and 24 Seats fit mid-sized groups, team outings and family gatherings.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats cover large parties such as tour groups, clubs, school trips and wedding guests.

Choose the size according to both passenger numbers and luggage. A slightly larger vehicle makes a three-hour ride more pleasant.

About Tiewinkel

Tiewinkel is a small place rather than a major travel hub, and it is not widely documented. Because of that, it is worth having the exact address of your final stop ready when you book, so the driver can take you to the right door. This route is booked less often than the busiest airport transfers, but it is available on request like any other.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House in Brussels Zaventem Airport, holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage. Head there after baggage reclaim and look for your name.
