Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Thuin

The drive from Zaventem to Thuin

Thuin lies 90 km (56 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport. The drive normally takes about 1 h 6 m, heading south through Brabant into the Hainaut province. Thuin is booked only occasionally, so a private transfer is often the simplest way to get there. Allow extra time during the weekday morning and late-afternoon peaks around Brussels, and in bad weather, as the first stretch of the journey is the busiest.

Choosing the right vehicle for your group

For couples, families and small business groups, a Private Taxi is the natural choice. It is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, so pick the one that matches your party and your luggage. Larger groups can book a Private Minibus with 8 seats, which suits a family with several suitcases or a small team travelling together.

• 8 and 16 seats: extended families, small tour parties, work teams.
• 24 and 32 seats: wedding guests, sports clubs, school or association trips.
• 40 and 48 seats: large groups, events and coach-style travel.

Thuin as a destination

Thuin is a small town in Wallonia on the River Sambre. It is split into a Ville haute on the hillside and a Ville basse by the river. Its belfry is UNESCO-listed, and the Jardins suspendus (hanging gardens) climb the slopes below the old town. Visitors come to walk the steep streets and cycle or stroll along the Sambre. It is a quiet place, so a direct transfer saves you from planning several connections on arrival.
