Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Strud

The Drive from Brussels Zaventem to Strud

The route covers 553 km (344 miles), and the typical driving time is 5 h 58 m. That is a long road transfer, so it suits travellers who want to go straight to their destination without juggling luggage across several connections. Strud is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but the transfer is available on request just like any other route.

Allow extra time if you travel during rush hour around Brussels, on Friday afternoons, or at the start and end of school holidays. Roadworks and weather can also stretch a journey of this length. If you have a fixed appointment or check-in time in Strud, build in a comfortable buffer rather than planning to the minute. On a trip close to six hours, a short comfort or refreshment stop along the way is also worth agreeing with your driver.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the natural choice. It is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, so the second option gives a little more room for a fourth person and their bags. On a ride of nearly six hours, seat space and luggage room matter more than on a short hop.

Larger parties can choose a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. Pick the size by the number of people and the amount of luggage, not just the headcount. Family gatherings, wedding guests, sports teams, company groups and tour parties all travel together in one vehicle on this route, so nobody has to coordinate several cars.

Meeting Point at Brussels Zaventem

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage.

About Strud

Strud is a small place, so you should not expect a large choice of facilities in the immediate surroundings. It is best to have the exact address of your final destination ready before departure. This helps the driver plan the last part of the route, especially if the street is narrow or hard to find. A small village is also a good reason to confirm your arrival time with your host or contact in advance, so someone is there when you arrive after the long drive.
