Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Sombeke

The Drive from Brussels Zaventem to Sombeke

The route covers 52 km (32 miles) and typically takes about 46 minutes by road. This is a less frequently booked transfer, but it is available on request like any other, and your driver takes you directly to your address without any changes along the way. The journey starts on the busy roads around Brussels, so traffic is the main variable. Weekday mornings and late afternoons are the busiest times, and it is sensible to allow extra time if you have a fixed appointment, a wedding or a connecting booking at the other end.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

The vehicle you need depends on how many people are travelling and how much luggage you bring.

• Private Taxi (1-3 or 1-4 passengers): suits solo travellers, couples, small families and business trips with standard luggage.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good fit for larger families or small groups with extra suitcases.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: practical for friends travelling together, club outings or event guests arriving on the same flight.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: intended for large parties such as wedding groups, corporate teams and tour groups, so everyone arrives in one vehicle.

If your group is close to the limit of a vehicle, choose the next size up so luggage fits comfortably.

About Sombeke

Sombeke is a small rural place in East Flanders, belonging to Waarschoot. It is a quiet area of fields and country lanes rather than a tourist centre, so most visitors come to see family, attend a local event or reach a business nearby. Because it is a small village, give your driver the full street address or a precise pin when you book. This helps with the final stretch, where smaller roads take over from the main route.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage, so you can go straight there without searching the terminal.
