Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to S.H.A.P.E. Belgium

The drive from Brussels Airport to S.H.A.P.E.

The route covers 77 km (48 miles) and typically takes around 54 minutes. You leave the Zaventem area and head south-west across Belgium toward the province of Hainaut. This is not one of the most frequently booked routes, but it is available on request like any other transfer. Brussels traffic can slow the first part of the trip, so allow extra time during the morning and late-afternoon rush hours, and if you have a fixed appointment or a tight schedule on arrival.

Choosing the right vehicle

For small parties, a private taxi works well: one version takes 1-3 passengers and another takes 1-4. Delegations, project teams and families travelling with more luggage can step up to a private minibus. Minibuses are available with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so a whole group can travel together instead of splitting across several cars. Pick the vehicle by the number of passengers, and keep luggage in mind as well as headcount.

About S.H.A.P.E. Belgium

S.H.A.P.E. is the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, the military headquarters of NATO's Allied Command Operations. It is located at Casteau, close to the city of Mons in Wallonia. It is a secured site rather than an open campus, so visitors normally need to be registered in advance and carry valid identification. Confirm the correct entrance and any access requirements with your host before you travel, so the driver can be given the right drop-off point.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage, so you can go straight there and meet your driver without wandering around the terminal.
