Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Rijkhoven

The drive from Zaventem to Rijkhoven

Rijkhoven lies 97 km (61 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive usually takes around 1 h 3 m. The route heads east across Belgium towards the province of Limburg. Most of the distance is on motorway, so the journey is straightforward. Traffic around the Brussels ring and the Leuven area can slow things down at weekday rush hours, so allow some extra time if you have a tight connection or an appointment on arrival. This route is booked less often than the big city transfers, but it is available on request like any other.

Choosing the right vehicle

Couples, solo travellers and small families are usually best served by a private taxi, with options for up to 3 or up to 4 passengers. If you travel with several suitcases, the 4-passenger option gives you a little more breathing room. Larger groups can choose a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This suits wedding parties, company trips, sports teams and family gatherings who want to arrive together rather than split across several cars.

About Rijkhoven

Rijkhoven is a small village in the municipality of Bilzen, in Belgian Limburg. The surrounding countryside is quiet and rural, which makes it a pleasant contrast to the airport. The village is best known for the Alden Biesen castle complex, a historic site that hosts events and visitors throughout the year. Since the area is small and spread out, giving your driver the full street address in advance helps ensure a smooth arrival.
