Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Rijkel

The drive from Brussels Airport to Rijkel

The journey from Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Rijkel covers 67 km (42 miles) and typically takes about 56 minutes. That is a comfortable single leg by road, with no need to work around train timetables or connections after a flight. Belgian motorways around Brussels are among the busiest in the country, so it is sensible to allow extra time during weekday morning and late-afternoon rush hours, and in bad weather. If you have a tight appointment on arrival, build in a margin rather than counting on the 56-minute estimate.

Rijkel is a less frequently booked destination, but the transfer is available on request just like any other route, so you can arrange it ahead of your trip.

Choosing the right vehicle

For small groups, a private taxi is the simplest option. One version is set up for 1-3 passengers and another for 1-4 passengers, which gives a little more space when you are travelling with four people and luggage. Larger parties can choose a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. As a rule, pick the vehicle by the total number of travellers and the amount of luggage, not just by headcount. If you are carrying bulky items such as sports equipment or several large suitcases, going up one size is usually the more relaxed choice. Families, wedding parties, sports teams and company groups all travel together in one vehicle this way, so nobody has to split up.

About Rijkel

Rijkel is a small place in Belgium, and not a destination with a large tourist infrastructure. If you are visiting friends, family or a private venue, keep the exact street address and a contact phone number to hand. This helps the driver reach the right door, especially on smaller local roads where navigation systems can be imprecise. A door-to-door transfer is particularly practical for a destination like this, where direct public transport from the airport is not something to rely on.
