Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Ottenburg

The drive from Zaventem to Ottenburg

Ottenburg lies 33 km (20 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes around 29 minutes. The route heads out of the airport area and continues south-east into the Flemish Brabant countryside. Morning and late-afternoon rush hours around the Brussels ring can add extra minutes, so allow a little buffer if you have a meeting or a fixed check-in time. This is an occasionally booked route, so a private transfer is often the simplest way to reach a village that is not on the main tourist trail.

Meeting point at the airport

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage, so you can meet your driver without searching around the terminal.

Choosing the right vehicle

The vehicle you need depends on group size and luggage:

• Private Taxi (1-3 or 1-4 passengers): suits solo travellers, couples, small families and business guests.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good fit for larger families or friends travelling with extra bags.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: work well for wedding parties, team outings and small tour groups.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: intended for large groups, corporate events and organised trips that need to arrive together.

About Ottenburg

Ottenburg is a quiet village in the municipality of Huldenberg, in the province of Flemish Brabant. The surroundings are green and rural, with a calm pace compared with Brussels. The village is also known for a small battle fought here in 1831 during the Belgian-Dutch conflict. Visitors usually come for family occasions, events in the area or a peaceful stay close to both Brussels and Leuven.

Where to stay near Ottenburg

Ottenburg is a small village, so most visitors stay in nearby Leuven, the closest larger town with a wide choice of hotels. Established options there include Martin's Klooster, a hotel in a converted former convent, and the Park Inn by Radisson Leuven, close to the railway station. Check the exact address with your accommodation before booking, so your driver can be given the right drop-off point.
