Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Opwijk

The drive from Zaventem to Opwijk

Opwijk lies 29 km (18 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive usually takes about 32 minutes. The route leaves the airport area and heads northwest around the Brussels region, so the time depends heavily on traffic. Weekday morning and late-afternoon rush hours can slow the ring road noticeably, so allow extra time if you have a fixed appointment or a connection to make. This is an occasionally booked route, and your driver will plan it with the current traffic in mind.

Choosing the right vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi is the simplest option, with versions for up to 3 or up to 4 passengers. Larger parties can choose a private minibus with 8 or 16 seats. For wedding guests, company groups or event delegations, minibuses with 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats are available. Pick a vehicle that also leaves room for luggage, as the passenger count alone does not tell you how much space you need.

About Opwijk

Opwijk is a municipality in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, northwest of Brussels. It is a quiet, largely residential place in the Flemish countryside rather than a major tourist hub. That makes a door-to-door transfer a practical choice, since you are taken straight to your address without changing vehicles.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage. Head there once you are through arrivals and look for your name.
