Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Nieuwegein

The drive from Brussels Airport to Nieuwegein

The transfer covers 157 km (98 miles) and typically takes 1 h 45 m. The route leads north across the Dutch border and into the province of Utrecht. Nieuwegein is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but it is available on request like any other. Allow extra time if you travel during weekday rush hours, as traffic around Antwerp and near Utrecht can slow the journey. Heavy rain or roadworks can also add some minutes.

Choosing the right vehicle

Smaller parties are well served by a private taxi, available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. Choose the larger option if you travel with several suitcases. For families, colleagues or friends travelling together, a private minibus with 8 seats works well. Bigger groups can book minibuses with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, which suits conference delegations, sports teams and organised tours. Everyone then arrives together in one vehicle.

Nieuwegein in brief

Nieuwegein is a city just south of Utrecht. It was formed in 1971 by merging the former towns of Jutphaas and Vreeswijk. It is largely a modern, planned town, with a sneltram (fast tram) line connecting it to Utrecht Centraal. Many visitors come for business in the Utrecht region, while others use it as a quiet base close to the centre of the country.
