Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Muizen

The drive from Brussels Airport to Muizen

Muizen lies 20 km (13 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive usually takes around 19 minutes. The route runs north towards Mechelen, so the journey is short and direct. Traffic around the Brussels ring and on the main motorways can build up during weekday morning and late-afternoon rush hours. If you have a fixed appointment or a tight check-in time, add a buffer on top of the standard travel time.

Meeting point at the airport

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage, so you can walk straight there without searching the terminal.

Choosing the right vehicle

For small parties, a private taxi is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, and the larger option is useful if you carry several suitcases. Families and groups travelling together can book a private minibus with 8 seats. Larger parties such as school trips, wedding guests or company teams can choose a minibus with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so everyone arrives in one vehicle. Pick the size according to both passenger numbers and the amount of luggage.

Muizen as a destination

Muizen is a village that forms part of the city of Mechelen, in the province of Antwerp, Flanders. It has a mainly residential character and a quieter feel than the centres of Brussels or Antwerp. That makes it a calm base for visitors who want to be close to Mechelen while staying within easy reach of the airport.

Places to stay near Muizen

Muizen is a small place, so most visitors choose accommodation in Mechelen, the town it belongs to and the nearest well-known base. Martin's Patershof is a well-established hotel housed in a former convent church in the centre of Mechelen. Novotel Mechelen Centrum is another long-standing choice, close to the historic town centre. Both are a short ride from Muizen, and your driver can take you straight to the hotel door if you share the address when booking.
