The Drive from Brussels Airport to Mellaar

The route covers 761 km (473 miles), and the typical driving time is 8 h 14 m. That makes it a long transfer, so it helps to plan it as a proper day of travel rather than a quick hop. Real journey times depend on traffic around Brussels, roadworks, weather and the time of day. If you have a connection, an appointment or a check-in deadline at the other end, leave a generous buffer.

This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request like any other. Because the trip is long, tell us in advance about the number of passengers and the amount of luggage so the right vehicle is arranged. On a drive of this length, comfortable seating and enough space for bags matter more than they do on a short city run.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

Smaller groups can choose between two private taxi options:

• Private Taxi (1-3 passengers) for solo travellers, couples or small families with moderate luggage.
• Private Taxi (1-4 passengers) for a party of four who want to travel together in one car.

For larger parties, a private minibus keeps everyone together instead of splitting across several cars. The available sizes are:

• 8 seats for groups of up to 8 passengers
• 16 seats for groups of up to 16 passengers
• 24 seats for groups of up to 24 passengers
• 32 seats for groups of up to 32 passengers
• 40 seats for groups of up to 40 passengers
• 48 seats for groups of up to 48 passengers

If you are travelling with a lot of suitcases, sports equipment or other bulky items, consider going one size up to leave room for everything over the long ride.

About Mellaar

Mellaar is a small place in Belgium rather than a major travel hub, so it is best to have the exact address of your destination ready when you book. A precise street name and house number, or the name of the property you are going to, helps the driver navigate straight to the door at the end of the journey.
