Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Meetkerke

The drive from Brussels Airport to Meetkerke

The transfer covers 113 km (71 miles) and typically takes 1 h 19 m. The road leads west across Flanders towards the coast. Meetkerke is a less frequently booked destination, but the route is available on request like any other. Allow extra time on weekday mornings and late afternoons around Brussels, and on sunny summer weekends, when traffic heading for the coast tends to be heavier.

Choosing the right vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers is the natural choice. If you travel with several suitcases or a larger family, the 8-seat minibus gives you more room to spread out. Groups of up to 16 or 24 people, such as wedding guests or a company outing, can travel together in the 16-seat or 24-seat minibus. For larger parties, minibuses with 32, 40 or 48 seats keep everyone in one vehicle, so nobody has to find their own way to the village.

Meetkerke and where to stay

Meetkerke is a small village in the municipality of Zuienkerke in West Flanders. It sits in flat polder countryside close to Bruges and the North Sea coast. It is a quiet, rural place, and its own accommodation is limited. Many visitors therefore base themselves in nearby Bruges, which has several long-established hotels:

• Hotel Dukes' Palace in the historic centre of Bruges
• Hotel De Tuilerieën, a well-known canal-side hotel in Bruges
• Grand Hotel Casselbergh in Bruges

If your booking is for a holiday home or a private address in Meetkerke itself, have the full street address ready when you book, so the driver can plan the final stretch on the village roads.
