The transfer covers 92 km (57 miles) and typically takes 1 h 6 m. Mal is not one of the routes we are asked for most often, but it is available on request just like any other, and your driver follows the same procedure as on our busier transfers. The journey is a straightforward road trip with no airport shuttle changes or station connections to manage.

Travel time is a typical figure, not a guarantee. Brussels traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and late afternoons, and roadworks or bad weather can add time, so it is sensible to allow a little extra if you have a fixed appointment at the other end. On the return leg to the airport, build in a comfortable margin before your check-in time.

Choosing the right vehicle

Eight vehicle types are available, so the choice mostly depends on group size and luggage:

• Private Taxi (1-3 passengers) or Private Taxi (1-4 passengers): suited to solo travellers, couples, and small families.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good fit for larger families or friends travelling with extra bags.
• Private Minibus 16 Seats and 24 Seats: practical for wedding parties, business groups, and club trips.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: designed for large groups, such as tours, events, and company outings, who want to arrive together in one vehicle.

If you are close to the limit of a vehicle's capacity, or you carry bulky luggage such as sports equipment or musical instruments, it is usually better to go one size up.
