Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Lokeren

The drive from Zaventem to Lokeren

The route covers 76 km (47 miles) and typically takes about 53 minutes. It leads from the airport area around Brussels towards East Flanders. Weekday rush hours around Brussels and the Ghent and Antwerp ring roads can slow things down, so allow extra time if you have a fixed appointment or a connection to make. Lokeren is an occasionally booked route, and the driver is briefed in advance on where you are heading.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, families and small business groups, a private taxi is the simplest choice. There are versions for 1-3 passengers and for 1-4 passengers, so pick the one that matches your luggage and group size. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8 or 16 seats. For wedding guests, club outings or company groups, minibuses with 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats are also available, so everyone travels together in one vehicle.

Lokeren as a destination

Lokeren is a town in East Flanders on the Durme river. It has a compact centre with a market square, and it is known in Belgium for its summer music festival, the Lokeren Feesten. Visitors usually come for family visits, local business or events, and the town is calm compared with Brussels.

Where to stay near Lokeren

I cannot name long-established hotels in Lokeren itself with confidence. Ghent, the nearest larger city, has several well-known options:

• Hotel Gravensteen, a historic hotel in the city centre
• Marriott Ghent, close to the old town and the Leie river
• NH Gent Belfort, a central hotel near the Belfry

Tell us your exact address when you book, and the driver can take you to any of these or to a private address.

Meeting point at Brussels Airport

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage, so you can go straight there without searching the terminal.
