Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Landen

The drive from BRU to Landen

Landen lies 59 km (37 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the journey normally takes about 40 minutes. The route heads east out of the Brussels area into the open farmland of Flemish Brabant. This is an occasionally booked route, so a private transfer is a practical way to reach the town without planning a connection yourself.

Allow extra time at peak hours

Traffic around Brussels and Leuven can slow down on weekday mornings and late afternoons. If you have to be somewhere at a fixed time, such as a meeting or a check-in, add a buffer to the 40-minute estimate. Bad weather can also lengthen the trip.

Choosing the right vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi is the simplest option. It is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, so check the number of seats against your luggage as well as your group size. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This suits wedding guests, sports teams, company delegations and school groups arriving on the same flight.

Landen as a destination

Landen is a small town in the Hesbaye region of Flemish Brabant, close to the border with the province of Liège. It is known as the birthplace of Pepin of Landen, an early Carolingian ancestor. The setting is mostly rural and quiet, with a compact town centre. Because of that, a door-to-door transfer is often more convenient than finding your way with luggage.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House in Brussels Zaventem Airport with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage. Head there once you have cleared the baggage hall and look for your name.
