Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Houwaart

The drive from Brussels Airport to Houwaart

Houwaart lies 42 km (26 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes about 30 minutes. Houwaart is a quiet village in Flemish Brabant, part of the municipality of Tielt-Winge, so the last stretch runs on local roads rather than motorways. This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request like any other. Allow extra time during the weekday morning and late-afternoon rush hours, when the roads around Brussels and Leuven get busy, and in bad winter weather.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a Private Taxi is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. Choose the larger taxi if you travel with four people or carry several suitcases. Larger groups can book a Private Minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, which suits wedding parties, family gatherings, team trips and business groups heading to the same address. Pick the size that matches your group plus luggage, so everyone travels together in one vehicle.

Places to stay near Houwaart

Houwaart is a small village, and we cannot name established hotels there with confidence. The nearest larger city with well-known accommodation is Leuven, roughly 15 km away. Notable options there include:

• Martin's Klooster, a hotel in a converted monastery complex in the city.
• Pentahotel Leuven, a modern hotel close to the city centre and railway station.

If you stay in Leuven, tell us the hotel address when booking, and your driver will take you directly there.
