Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Houtave

The drive from Brussels Airport to Houtave

Houtave is a less frequently booked destination, but the transfer is available on request like any other route. The road distance is 119 km (74 miles), and the typical driving time is 1 h 17 m. Allow extra time if you travel during rush hour around Brussels, or in heavy rain or fog, which can slow traffic on the way to the coast. A private transfer takes you straight to your address, so you avoid carrying luggage through changes of train or bus.

Choosing the right vehicle

The vehicle depends on the size of your group and how much luggage you carry:

• Private Taxi (1-3 or 1-4 passengers): suits individual travellers, couples, and small families.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good choice for larger families or friends travelling with extra bags.
• Private Minibus 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 Seats: for wedding parties, company groups, and other large parties who want to arrive together.

About Houtave

Houtave is a small village in West Flanders, part of the municipality of Zuienkerke. It lies in flat polder countryside close to Bruges and the Belgian coast. It is a quiet place, so most visitors come for the peaceful surroundings or to see family, and then explore the wider region.

Where to stay near Houtave

Houtave is small, so for hotels it is easier to look at nearby Bruges, a short drive away. Well-established choices there include Hotel de Orangerie, Hotel Dukes' Palace, and Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce. All three are in the historic centre, so you can combine a stay in the city with a visit to Houtave.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you collect your luggage, so you can meet without any searching around the terminal.
