Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Houtaing

The drive from Brussels Airport to Houtaing

Houtaing lies 88 km (55 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the typical driving time is 1 h 8 m. The route leaves the Brussels area and continues west into the province of Hainaut, finishing on smaller local roads. This is a less frequently booked route, but it is available on request like any other, and your driver will take you straight to your address without any changes along the way.

Traffic around Brussels can slow the first part of the trip, especially on weekday mornings and late afternoons. If you have a tight connection or an appointment at the other end, allow some extra time. Bad weather can also add minutes on the final rural stretch.

Choosing the right vehicle

Smaller groups are well served by a private taxi. There is a version for up to 3 passengers and another for up to 4, which gives a little more room for suitcases when four people travel together.

• Families and small groups of up to 8: a private minibus with 8 seats.
• Mid-sized groups of 9 to 24: minibuses with 16 or 24 seats.
• Large parties, such as wedding guests or company outings: minibuses with 32, 40 or 48 seats.

When you book, count your luggage as well as your passengers. If you carry bulky items such as sports equipment or prams, choose the next size up.

About Houtaing

Houtaing is a small village in the Wallonia region of Belgium, in the municipality of Lessines in Hainaut. The surrounding landscape is quiet and rural, with fields and gentle hills, so it suits visitors who want to stay away from the city. Most arrivals come to see family or friends, or to explore the countryside of western Hainaut. Because it is a small place, check your exact street address before travelling and share it with your driver in advance.
