Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Hombeek

The drive from BRU to Hombeek

Hombeek is 20 km (13 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive normally takes around 18 minutes. That is a short hop, but the roads around Brussels and Mechelen fill up during the morning and evening rush hours. If you have a fixed appointment or a tight check-in, add a safety margin on weekday peaks. The route is booked less often than the big city transfers, but it is available on request just like any other.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a Private Taxi is the simplest option. It is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, so pick the larger one if you are travelling with four people or a lot of luggage. Larger parties can book a Private Minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This suits family gatherings, wedding guests, company teams and other groups who want to arrive together rather than in several cars. Choose the vehicle by the number of people and bags, not just by seats, since suitcases take up space too.

About Hombeek

Hombeek is a quiet residential area in the Mechelen region of Flanders. It has a village feel, with green surroundings and a calm atmosphere, rather than the busy centre of a big city. Mechelen itself, with its historic centre, is close by. Because the streets are mostly residential, it helps to have the exact street address ready so the driver can take you to the door.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage, so you can go straight there once you leave the baggage hall.
