The route covers 182 km (114 miles) and typically takes around 2 h 3 m. It leads north from Zaventem across the Belgian border and into the central Netherlands. Traffic around Brussels, Antwerp and the Utrecht and Amsterdam area can be heavy at rush hour, so allow some extra time if you have a fixed appointment, a broadcast slot or a connecting booking at the other end.

Beyond the studios, Hilversum has leafy residential districts and access to heathland and woodland nearby, which makes it a calm base compared with Amsterdam. After a two-hour road transfer you arrive directly at your address, whether that is a studio, an office or a private home.
