Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Herk-de-Stad

The drive from BRU to Herk-de-Stad

The route covers 63 km (39 miles) and typically takes about 43 minutes. Most of the journey is on motorway, heading east out of the Brussels area toward the province of Limburg. Traffic around Brussels and Leuven is heaviest on weekday mornings and late afternoons, so it is sensible to allow some extra time if you have a fixed appointment or a connection to make. A private transfer means you go straight from the terminal to your address without changing vehicles or checking timetables.

Choosing the right vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi is the natural choice: one option seats up to 3 passengers, another up to 4. Check your luggage before you choose, since four people with large suitcases can be a tight fit in a standard car. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This works well for wedding guests, sports teams, company groups and school trips, as everyone arrives together and nobody has to organise separate cars.

Herk-de-Stad as a destination

Herk-de-Stad is a small Flemish town in Limburg, close to Hasselt and Diest. It has a quiet, residential feel and is surrounded by farmland and green countryside rather than big-city sprawl. Most visitors come for family, local business or events in the region, so it helps to have the exact street address ready when you book. Because the town is small, a door-to-door transfer is often far more convenient than piecing together a journey from the airport on your own.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage and walked into the arrivals area.
