The drive from Brussels Airport to Henri-Chapelle

Henri-Chapelle lies in eastern Belgium, 120 km (75 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport. In normal traffic the drive takes about 1 h 14 m. The route runs east across the country, so the busiest stretch is usually the ring road around Brussels. Allow extra time if you land during the morning or late-afternoon rush, or if the weather is bad. Henri-Chapelle is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but the transfer is available on request like any other, and the driver tracks your arrival so you do not need to rush.

Choosing the right vehicle

Smaller groups are best served by a private taxi. There are two options: one for up to 3 passengers and one for up to 4. If you travel with several suitcases, the 4-passenger car leaves more room for luggage even when you are fewer than four people.

• Families and mid-size groups: the 8-seat minibus gives everyone space to stretch out on a longer drive.
• Larger parties: minibuses with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats suit wedding guests, tour groups, sports teams and company delegations travelling together to the area.

Choose the vehicle by the number of people and the amount of luggage, and book the larger size if you are unsure.

About Henri-Chapelle

Henri-Chapelle is a village in the province of Liège, close to the German and Dutch borders. It is part of the municipality of Welkenraedt. The surrounding Herve plateau is a quiet landscape of meadows and small villages. The village is best known for the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial, which draws visitors from many countries. Travellers also use it as a base for exploring the border region, including nearby towns such as Eupen and Verviers.
