Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Helkijn

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you collect your luggage, so you can meet without searching the terminal.

The Drive to Helkijn

The route covers 116 km (73 miles) and usually takes about 1 h 23 m. Most of the way is on motorway, followed by a short stretch on local roads as you near the Scheldt valley and the French border. Helkijn is not a frequently booked destination, so we arrange it on request like any other route. Allow some extra time on weekday mornings and late afternoons, when traffic around Brussels slows down, and in bad weather. If you have a fixed appointment or a connection to catch, plan a buffer.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

Smaller groups are well served by a private taxi, with options for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. For families with more luggage or groups of friends, a private minibus with 8 seats is the next step. Larger parties, such as wedding guests, school groups or company outings, can book minibuses with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. Pick the size by passenger count and luggage rather than seats alone, since suitcases need space too.

Helkijn and Places to Stay Nearby

Helkijn is a small village in the Spiere-Helkijn municipality in West Flanders, close to the Scheldt and the French border. It is a quiet, rural place, so the choice of accommodation in the village itself is limited. Travellers who want a wider selection usually look to nearby Kortrijk, where several established hotels are found:

• Parkhotel Kortrijk, a larger hotel popular with business and leisure guests
• Hotel Damier, located on the Grote Markt in the town centre
• Hotel Messeyne, a well-known hotel in the historic centre

Tell us your exact address when booking, whether it is in Helkijn or in a neighbouring town, so the driver can plan the final stretch of the route.
