Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Heldergem

The drive from Brussels Airport to Heldergem

Heldergem lies 44 km (28 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes around 37 minutes. The route leaves the airport area and heads west across Flanders, so most of the trip is on main roads rather than through city streets. Heldergem is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but the transfer is available on request just like any other route.

Allow extra time if you travel during the morning or evening rush hour, when traffic around Brussels is heavier than usual. If you have a tight connection or an appointment shortly after landing, build in a small buffer on top of the typical driving time.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage, so you can meet your driver without searching the terminal.

Choosing the right vehicle

The vehicle you need depends mainly on group size and luggage:

• Private Taxi (1-3 or 1-4 passengers): suits solo travellers, couples, families and small groups with standard luggage.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good choice for larger families or friends travelling together with several suitcases.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: for wedding parties, company teams and other mid-sized groups.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: for large groups, events and organised tours that need to arrive together in one vehicle.

If your party sits right at the limit of a vehicle, it is worth choosing the next size up for more comfort and luggage space.

About Heldergem

Heldergem is a village in the municipality of Haaltert in East Flanders. It is a quiet, largely residential place in the Denderstreek, surrounded by the green countryside typical of this part of Belgium. Visitors usually come to see family and friends, to attend local events or to stay somewhere calmer than central Brussels. Because the area is rural, it helps to have the exact street address ready for your driver, so the drop-off is as direct as possible.
