Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Handzame

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Handzame

Handzame lies 124 km (78 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the journey usually takes about 1 h 31 m. Most of the route is on motorway before you switch to quieter regional roads for the last stretch. Weekday rush hours around Brussels can slow the first part of the trip, so it is sensible to allow some extra time if you have a fixed appointment or a connection to make. Because this is a less frequently booked route, it is arranged on request, and booking ahead makes sure a driver and vehicle are ready for your arrival.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage, so you can head there directly after leaving the baggage hall.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

For smaller parties, a private taxi is the natural choice: one version seats 1-3 passengers and another seats 1-4 passengers, which helps when you travel with a bit more luggage. Larger groups can book a private minibus. The options are:

• Minibus with 8 seats (1-8 passengers)
• Minibus with 16 seats (1-16 passengers)
• Minibus with 24 seats (1-24 passengers)
• Minibus with 32 seats (1-32 passengers)
• Minibus with 40 seats (1-40 passengers)
• Minibus with 48 seats (1-48 passengers)

Families, work teams, wedding guests and event groups can all travel together in one vehicle instead of splitting up. When you book, choose the size that matches your passenger count and the amount of luggage you bring.

About Handzame

Handzame is a small village in the municipality of Kortemark in West Flanders. The surrounding area is flat, rural Flemish countryside, so it is a calm place to arrive after a flight. Because the village is small and has limited public transport, a private transfer from the airport to the door is a practical way to get there. Give your driver the exact address when booking so the last part of the trip runs smoothly.
