Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Grandrieu

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Grandrieu

The journey covers 894 km (556 miles) and typically takes around 8 h 45 m without long stops. This is a full day on the road rather than a quick hop, so it suits travellers who want to arrive directly and avoid juggling several connections with luggage. Allow extra time if you travel on a Friday afternoon, at the start or end of school holidays, or in bad weather, since long-distance traffic can slow things down noticeably. On a trip of this length, plan for a comfort break or two, which your driver can fit in along the way.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

For a journey of almost nine hours, space matters. Solo travellers, couples and small families usually do well with a private taxi, available for up to 3 or up to 4 passengers. With four people and larger suitcases, it is worth thinking about how much room you really need for such a long ride.

• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a comfortable choice for larger families or friends travelling with plenty of luggage.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: well suited to extended family gatherings, wedding parties or small groups.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: intended for coach-sized groups, such as clubs, events or organised tours.

Because Grandrieu is a less frequently booked route, it is arranged on request like any other, so it is best to book ahead and state your passenger and luggage numbers clearly.

About Grandrieu

Grandrieu is a small place, and it is better known to those with a specific reason to go there, such as visiting family, a countryside stay or a local event, than to general tourists. Do not expect the services of a big city on arrival. Having the exact address of your final destination ready before you travel helps your driver plan the last stretch of the route, especially if the property is outside the centre of the village.
