About Geluveld

Geluveld is a village in the municipality of Zonnebeke in West Flanders, close to Ypres. It is best known for its First World War history: the Battle of Geluveld in 1914 was fought here, and the surrounding countryside forms part of the Ypres Salient. Many visitors come to see the memorials, cemeteries and museums of the area. Outside the battlefield sites, the village itself is quiet and rural.
