Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Gavere

The drive from Brussels Airport to Gavere

The route covers 75 km (47 miles) and typically takes about 54 minutes by road. Gavere is a less frequently booked destination, but transfers here are available on request just like any other route. Your driver heads west from Zaventem towards East Flanders, so the journey is a direct private ride with no changes and no waiting for connections. Allow extra time if you travel during the morning or evening rush hours around Brussels, or when the weather is poor. Traffic on the ring road can add to the usual driving time.

Choosing the right vehicle

For small groups, a Private Taxi is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, which suits couples, families and business travellers with standard luggage. Larger parties can book a Private Minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. This is useful for wedding guests, company groups, sports teams or family gatherings who all want to arrive together. If you travel with a lot of luggage, choose the next size up so everyone has space to sit comfortably.

Gavere and where to stay

Gavere is a municipality in East Flanders, set in the Scheldt valley between Ghent and the Flemish Ardennes. It is a calm, green area known for its countryside setting and for the historic Battle of Gavere in 1453. Gavere itself is small, so many visitors choose accommodation in nearby Ghent, the closest major city. Well-established options there include:

• Marriott Ghent Hotel, next to the historic centre by the Lys river
• NH Gent Belfort, close to the Belfry and the main sights
• Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof, a boutique hotel in a former mansion

Check the exact address of your accommodation before you book so the driver can plan the final part of the route.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House in Brussels Zaventem Airport, holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage. Simply walk over and look for your name.
