Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Fontenoy

The drive from Brussels Airport to Fontenoy

The route covers 485 km (302 miles), and the typical driving time is 5 h 7 m. That is a long road trip, so it helps to plan for it. Leaving the Brussels area during the morning or evening rush hour can add time. The same goes for busy holiday weekends, summer traffic and roadworks. If you have a connection or an appointment at the other end, build in a comfortable buffer. Ask your driver about a short break on the way if you are travelling with children or older passengers.

A private transfer means there are no changes and no timetables to match. You and your luggage go straight from the terminal to your destination.

Meeting point at Brussels Zaventem Airport

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find after you have collected your luggage.

Choosing the right vehicle

Over five hours on the road, space matters. These are the options:

• Private Taxi (1-3 or 1-4 passengers): suits solo travellers, couples, small families and colleagues travelling together.
• Private Minibus 8 Seats: a good choice for larger families or groups with plenty of suitcases.
• Private Minibus 16 and 24 Seats: for tour parties, clubs and wedding guests.
• Private Minibus 32, 40 and 48 Seats: for large groups, events and organised tours that want to arrive together.

If your party is close to a vehicle's limit, choose the next size up. Luggage takes room, and a longer journey is more pleasant with some space to spare.

Arriving in Fontenoy

Fontenoy is a small place, and this is a less frequently booked route. It is available on request like any other, so it is best to book ahead rather than at the last minute. Because the destination is small, send your driver the exact address or a map pin in advance. This avoids detours at the end of a long drive. It also helps to share a local phone number for the person you are visiting or the place you are staying, so the driver can reach someone if the final access road is hard to find.
