The Drive from BRU to Evere

Evere lies only 7 km (5 miles) from the terminal, and the drive normally takes around 11 minutes. The route is short, but the roads around the airport and the northern edge of Brussels fill up during the morning and evening rush hours. If you have a meeting or a connection to catch, allow a little extra time at those hours. Heavy rain can also slow traffic around the ring road.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi is the simplest option. It is available for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers, so pick the larger one if you have extra luggage or a fourth traveller. Larger groups can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. That suits business teams, conference delegates and school or sports groups arriving together, because everyone travels in one vehicle and arrives at the same time.

Evere is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, in the north-east of the city. It is best known as the home of the NATO headquarters, and it also has a mix of offices, residential streets and green areas. Because it sits so close to the airport, it is a convenient base for travellers on institutional or business visits.

Evere itself is mostly residential and administrative, and I can't name a well-known hotel there with confidence. The best-known hotels nearby are around the airport. The Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport is in Diegem, close to Evere, and the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel is in Zaventem, right at the terminal. Whichever you choose, give your driver the full address when you book so the drop-off goes smoothly.
