Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Elverdinge

The Drive to Elverdinge

Elverdinge lies 138 km (86 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes 1 h 34 m. The route crosses Flanders towards the far west of the country, so the final stretch runs on regional roads close to the French border. Allow extra time during the morning and evening rush around Brussels and Ghent, and in poor weather. If you have a tight onward connection, it is sensible to build in a buffer.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the simplest choice, with options for up to 3 or up to 4 passengers. Larger parties can book a private minibus with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, which suits tour groups, school trips, wedding guests or delegations travelling together with their luggage. Pick the size by passenger count and bags, so everyone has room on a journey of well over an hour and a half.

About Elverdinge and Where to Stay

Elverdinge is a village in West Flanders that belongs to the city of Ieper (Ypres). It is a quiet, rural place, and many visitors come for the Flanders Fields area and its First World War history. For accommodation, the nearest well-known options are in Ieper itself, a short drive away. Two established choices there are the Albion Hotel and Hotel Ariane. Both are popular with travellers exploring the Ypres Salient.
