Eisden is a village in the municipality of Maasmechelen, in Belgian Limburg, on the Meuse side of the border with the Netherlands. It is known for its coal-mining past, which shaped the garden-city style housing of Eisden-Tuinwijk. The surrounding area is green and good for walking and cycling, and the Hoge Kempen National Park is nearby. Maasmechelen Village, a well-known outlet shopping centre, is also close.
