Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Contern

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Contern

The route covers 229 km (143 miles) and typically takes 2 h 22 m. It runs south-east through Belgium and across the border into Luxembourg, so this is a long-distance transfer rather than a quick hop. Contern is not one of our most frequently booked destinations, but it is available on request like any other. Allow extra time if you travel during the morning or evening rush around Brussels, or if roadworks and heavy traffic slow the motorway. A door-to-door ride avoids the train changes and luggage handling a journey of this length would otherwise involve.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

Small groups are best served by a private taxi, with a choice of 1-3 passengers or 1-4 passengers. If you travel with a larger party, or carry a lot of luggage, a private minibus is the better option. Minibuses come with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so company delegations, conference groups and families can all travel together in one vehicle. Pick the size according to both passenger numbers and the amount of luggage you have.

About Contern

Contern is a small municipality in the east of Luxembourg, close to the capital. It is a quiet, largely residential and business-oriented place, and many visitors come here for work. Its location near Luxembourg City makes it a practical base for trips into the capital.

Where to Stay Near Contern

Contern itself is small, so most visitors choose accommodation in nearby Luxembourg City, the closest major town. Well-established options there include the Sofitel Luxembourg Le Grand Ducal, Hotel Le Royal and Hotel Parc Belle-Vue. Confirm the exact address with your host or hotel before travelling, so your driver can take you directly to the door.

Meeting Point
