Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Chercq

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Chercq

The transfer covers 109 km (68 miles) and typically takes 1 h 15 m. Chercq is a less frequently booked destination, but the transfer is available on request like any other route. Allow extra time if you travel during the weekday morning or evening rush around Brussels, since the first part of the journey passes through the busiest stretch of road. Roadworks and weather can also add minutes, so it is wise not to schedule a tight appointment right after arrival.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

A private taxi suits smaller parties: one version takes 1-3 passengers, another takes 1-4. Families with a few suitcases or colleagues travelling together will usually be comfortable in either one. For larger groups there are private minibuses with 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, which keep everyone in one vehicle. This works well for wedding parties, club trips, company groups or a family reunion. When booking, count the luggage as well as the passengers, so the vehicle you choose has enough room for everything.

Chercq and Where to Stay Nearby

Chercq is a quiet village in the Tournai area of Hainaut province, close to the Scheldt river. It is a peaceful, rural setting rather than a busy tourist centre. For hotels, most visitors look to the nearby city of Tournai, which has more choice. Well-known options there include:

• Mercure Tournai
• Hôtel Cathédrale

Tournai is also known for its cathedral, Notre-Dame, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This makes it a convenient base if you want to see the area.
