Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Buizingen

The drive from Brussels Airport to Buizingen

Buizingen lies 37 km (23 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU), and the trip usually takes about 30 minutes. Because the route passes around and through the busy Brussels area, the actual time depends on the traffic. This is an occasionally booked route, so it is worth reserving your transfer ahead of time instead of waiting until you land.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the natural fit. We offer one for 1-3 passengers and one for 1-4 passengers, so check your luggage against the seat count. Larger parties can choose a private minibus:

• 8 seats for a group of friends or an extended family
• 16 and 24 seats for business teams, clubs or wedding guests
• 32, 40 and 48 seats for tour groups, school trips and large events

If you travel with bulky items such as sports gear or several large suitcases, pick the next size up.

Buizingen as a destination

Buizingen is a district of the municipality of Halle in Flemish Brabant, just south-west of Brussels. It is a residential area rather than a tourist hotspot, which makes it a practical base for visiting family, attending a business appointment or reaching the wider Brussels region. Give your driver the full street address in advance so the drop-off goes smoothly.

Planning your timing

Thirty minutes is a typical figure, not a guarantee. Morning and late-afternoon rush hours around Brussels can add delay, so build in a buffer if you have a tight appointment or a connecting departure. When you head back to the airport, leave earlier than you think necessary, especially on weekdays.

Meeting Point

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House holding a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage.
