Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place, Brussels

The drive into central Brussels

The route from Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to the Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place covers 16 km (10 miles) and normally takes about 28 minutes. Most of the journey is on the motorway towards the city centre, followed by slower streets in the historic core. Morning and late-afternoon rush hours on the approach roads can add time, so allow extra if you have a fixed appointment or a tight schedule after arrival.

Meeting point at the airport

Your driver waits at Java Coffee House with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find once you have collected your luggage.

Which vehicle suits your group

For solo travellers, couples and small families, a private taxi for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers is the simplest choice. Larger parties can choose a private minibus with 8 or 16 seats. Conference delegations, tour groups and school parties are covered by minibuses from 24 up to 64 seats. Choose according to your luggage as well as your headcount, since suitcases take up much more room than people expect.

Staying near the Grand Place

The Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place sits in the heart of the old city, within walking distance of the Grand Place, the Bourse and many of the city's restaurants and cafés. Other long-established hotels in the same central area include Hotel Amigo, close to the Grand Place, Hotel Metropole on Place de Brouckère, a grand hotel dating back to the 19th century, and Hotel Le Plaza on Boulevard Adolphe Max.

One practical tip for arrival: parts of the centre are pedestrianised or have restricted traffic. Your driver will use the closest suitable access point, and you may have a short walk with your bags at the end, so a few extra minutes at the hotel end of the trip are worth planning for.
