Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Blanden

The drive from BRU to Blanden

Blanden lies 27 km (17 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the drive typically takes about 20 minutes. The route heads out of the airport area towards the Leuven region, so it is a fairly short run once you are on the road. This is an occasionally booked route, and your driver will know the way. Allow extra time during the weekday morning and late-afternoon rush hours, when traffic around Brussels and Leuven can slow things down.

Choosing the right vehicle

For couples, solo travellers and small families, a private taxi is the simplest option, with versions for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. If you travel with more luggage or a larger party, the private minibus with 8 seats covers up to 8 passengers. Bigger groups, such as wedding parties, sports teams or company outings, can choose minibuses with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats, so everyone arrives together in one vehicle.

About Blanden

Blanden is a small village in the municipality of Oud-Heverlee, close to Leuven in Flemish Brabant. It is a quiet, green area with countryside walks and cycling routes nearby, and it feels far removed from the airport despite the short distance. Most visitors come to see family or friends, or for a stay in the Leuven area.

Places to stay near Blanden

Blanden itself is small, so most hotels are in the nearest larger town, Leuven. Well-known options there include Martin's Klooster, a hotel set in a converted convent building, Martin's Patershof, housed in a former church-related complex, and the Leuven Marriott Hotel near the centre. Leuven is only a short drive from Blanden, so it works well as a base.
