Brussels Zaventem Airport (BRU) to Bertrix

The Drive from Brussels Airport to Bertrix

Bertrix lies 147 km (92 miles) from Brussels Zaventem Airport, and the journey normally takes around 1 h 33 m. The route leads south-east out of the Brussels region and into the Belgian Ardennes, so the last part of the trip is quieter than the first. Brussels is the main source of delays: the ring road is often busy on weekday mornings and late afternoons, and Friday evenings can be slow. Winter weather in the Ardennes can also slow the final stretch. If you have a tight onward plan, add a buffer to the standard driving time.

Choosing the Right Vehicle

Smaller parties are well served by a private taxi, with options for 1-3 or 1-4 passengers. Four people with suitcases will be more comfortable in the larger option. Families with extra luggage, hiking gear or cycling equipment can move up to the 8-seat minibus. For bigger groups there are minibuses with 16, 24, 32, 40 or 48 seats. These suit wedding parties, school trips, company outings and club travel. Because this route is booked less often, it is arranged on request, so give accurate passenger and luggage numbers when you book.

Bertrix as a Destination

Bertrix is a small town in the province of Luxembourg, in the Walloon part of the Ardennes. It is surrounded by forest and countryside, which makes it a practical base for walking, cycling and quiet getaways. Libramont, known for its large agricultural fair, and Bouillon, with its medieval castle, are both a short drive away. Expect a calm, rural setting rather than a big-city atmosphere. Your driver will take you directly to the address you give, which is useful in an area where public transport is limited.

Meeting Point

After you collect your luggage, head to Java Coffee House, where your driver will be waiting with a personalised name sign. The spot is easy to find from the baggage reclaim area, so you can meet without any searching. Once you have found the sign, the driver will help you to the vehicle and the journey to Bertrix can begin.
